Just like the ice cream, you can never have too much of these boys either.
Ben and Jerry came in as strays together. Both are estimated to be 11 months old, are similar looking, and same size - so although there is no proof, we believe that they are brothers.
With that being said, they do not need to be adopted together. Ben and Jerry would be plenty happy separated as long as they know their brother also has a safe and happy home.
They do well with each other and other dogs from what we have seen so far. We have not yet tested them with cats, but if an interested application had cats we certainly will check that before sending them home.
These boy are both between 55 and 60 pounds. They are more of a high energy dog, so they certainly would like a dog or human who wants to play with them.

A "meet and greet" is required with all family members and the pet prior to finalizing the adoption application. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccinations prior to new pet going home. We do not adopt to people who will keep the pet outside exclusively. Our adoption fees are as follows:
Puppy (0-12 months): $200
Adult Dog (1-5 years): $175
Senior Dog (6+ years): $85
Senior to Senior Program: any person over 65 yrs of age wanting to adopt any pet over 7 yrs of age: adoption fee is waived

The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
