The best part about Rocky is he is a loyal and affectionate companion. He is a protector. He'd do well in a home with people or animals to play with. He is used to living with one other dog and a cat with no problems. He chases the cat but is not aggressive with her.

Temperament: Gets along with dogs, dog-savvy cats, sturdy older kids
Training: still working on house-training. He was rescued from a shelter and now the rescuer has a job that keeps her away from home.
Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.
Approve Application
We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.
Home Check
This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.
Sign Adoption Contract
You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.
