My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ever wonder what pure joy looks like after a lifetime of hardship?

Hi, I’m Dia! I’m a 4-5 year old girl who spent my whole life having puppies for someone in Garland—litter after litter, until one day they just left me on the streets like I didn’t matter anymore. But you know what? I don’t let my past define me.

I’m safe now, and these days I’m living my best life! I’ve discovered that tennis balls are basically the greatest invention ever, and soft beds? Oh my goodness, I never knew life could be this cozy. I absolutely love attention—the more pets and snuggles, the better. After years of just being used for breeding, I’m finally learning what it means to be loved as someone’s companion, and I’m soaking up every moment.

I get along great with other dogs and kids, because I’m just a gentle soul who wants everyone to be happy. I have so much love to give, and I’m incredibly sweet with everyone I meet. My eyebrows always make me look sad, even when I’m wagging my tail like crazy and my heart is full of happiness. But don’t let that fool you—I’m truly thriving now.

I’m ready to find a forever family who will never leave me behind and who will let me spend my golden years being the cherished companion I was always meant to be. Could that be you?

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
