My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Roxy was brought in by Field Service Officer on November 20, 2025.

Why Roxy is the one for you:
Meet Roxy! Roxy is a gentle, resilient sweetheart looking for a home where she can relax and live out her golden years! She came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about her past - but her soft eyes and sweet nature tell us she's ready for a fresh start. Roxy has a few age-related medical quirks, including a removed mass and dental disease. As a short-faced (brachycephalic) pup, she can also find breathing a bit tricky, so she'll do best in a calm home that understands her need for a slower pace and a cool, comfortable environment. Her ideal family is patient, kind, and ready to help her continue feeling her best. In return, she'll offer endless sweetness, grateful cuddles, and the joy of watching her blossom. If you're looking for a lovable companion with a tender spirit, Roxy may be your perfect match.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
