My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Note: Chobi is currently in Korea, but will fly to Vancouver once he is adopted.

Background
Chobi is a gentle little boy who was rescued from a city pound in Milyang this summer. Since then, he has been living with other dogs at our partner boarding house.

Personality and Socialization
If you are looking for a friendly and sweet companion, Chobi is your boy. He has been gentle, well-mannered, and pleasant from the start. While puppies his age can sometimes be a handful, Chobi is smart, obedient, and easygoing. He has medium energy and loves playing with friendly dogs around his size. As long as they are gentle, he gets along well with most dogs. With people, he is affectionate, friendly, and warms up quickly.

Behaviours
Chobi is calm and patient in new situations. He does well at the vet, listens nicely, and often receives compliments for his sweet nature. He enjoys baths and car rides, and he is learning to walk well on a leash. Overall, he is a smart and easygoing puppy who picks things up quickly and follows his humans with ease.

Health and Diet
Chobi is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no signs of allergies. He is healthy and ready to join his forever family.

Ideal Home
Chobi is a loving, gentle boy who will fit well with many types of families. He is great for first-time dog parents or as a companion to another friendly dog. He is affectionate, eager to learn, and thrives with guidance and attention. A home where someone is around often, or works from home, would help him feel secure and confident. Whoever welcomes Chobi into their life will be very lucky to have such a sweet and loving little companion.

More about this rescue

Free Korean Dogs is a registered charity founded in 2015 with the mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever-loving homes for dogs saved from the Korean dog meat trade.

We divide our mission across three basic pillars: rescue, adopt, and engage. Since 2015, we’ve made huge advances in all three areas, shutting down three dog meat farm operations, facilitating the adoption of 1,800 rescue dogs, and launching Freedom Walk, our annual event to raise public awareness about the Korean dog meat trade:

RESCUE
Our organization has made significant strides in rescuing dogs from the dog meat trade, high-kill shelters and other high-risk conditions in Korea. We shut down dog meat farms and liberated over 500 dogs from unbearable suffering and despair.

ADOPT
Through our unwavering commitment, we have found forever-loving homes for more than 1,800 dogs rescued from brutal circumstances. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals and find them a new life filled with love and care.

ENGAGE
Our mission extends beyond rescue and adoption; we are dedicated to building a compassionate community. Through educational campaigns and events, we engage with individuals and organizations to create a cultural shift from cruelty to compassion.
