Blanco is that perfect mix of adventurous outside, cuddle-sloth inside. He LOVES to snuggle, LOVES treats even more, and LOVES using his whole body to express joy — which is adorable, but yes, we’re politely working on the “no launching myself onto humans” rule. Millennial enthusiasm, you know?
He’s curious, goofy, playful, and honestly kind of hilarious. Walks? He’s obsessed. Leash skills? We’re getting there. Crate time? He settles in after a bit of “I would like to speak to the manager” whining and then snoozes like a champ.
Blanco is likely deaf, so he thrives with hand signals, gentle wake-ups, and a human who gets that different doesn’t mean difficult. He’s smart, routine-oriented, and will sprint into his crate if you even think about grabbing a treat. He’s still learning what’s a chew toy vs. what’s… not. But bathroom accidents? None. Zero. Gold star student.
💙 A quick but important note: Blanco is a double merle, meaning he has special needs caused by irresponsible breeding practices.
Double Merle Aussies are the result of a genetic defect from improper breeding of 2 Merle colored Aussies. This creates a genetic cocktail of potential issues with hearing, vision, and neurological. While they are easily trained using hand signals, voice commands, or even vibrating colors, not all defects necessarily present themselves early on. Committing to these dogs now means committing to consistent checkups around the potential defects and care should something present itself in the future.
Dogs like Blanco shine when given structure, patience, and love.
If you want a quirky, snuggly, food-motivated adventure buddy who will absolutely become your whole personality, Blanco is your guy.
