Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Meet Blanco
~1 year old • 30 lbs • Double Merle
Dog-friendly • Crate trained • Potty trained
Blanco is a young, intelligent dog who needs a home that values structure, consistency, and patience. While he has a playful side, Blanco truly thrives when expectations are clear and routines are predictable.
He enjoys walks, settles well in his crate after initial vocalizing, and is highly food-motivated — making him eager to learn with the right guidance. He is currently working on impulse control (no jumping) and appropriate chewing, and he continues to improve with consistency and redirection.
Blanco is deaf, and he does best with hand signals, gentle physical cues, and calm handling. He is currently prescribed trazodone to help manage anxiety, and his future home should be comfortable continuing behavioral support and working closely with a veterinarian as needed.
💙 Important information about Double Merles:
Blanco is a double merle, a result of irresponsible breeding. Dogs like Blanco can have hearing, vision, and/or neurological impairments — some of which may not present until later in life. Adopting a double merle means committing to:
• Ongoing veterinary care and monitoring
• Training methods adapted for sensory impairments
• Patience, advocacy, and lifelong support
Blanco is not difficult — but he is different, and he needs a home that understands that difference and is willing to work with it, not around it.
In the right environment, Blanco will be a deeply loyal companion who bonds strongly to his people and flourishes with guidance and routine.
