My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the beautiful Ho'ola (Lala for short)! 🌟 This spirited 3-year-old mixed breed gal is not just a survivor; she's a testament to resilience and love! Weighing in at a dainty 30 lbs, she’s ready to join your life and fill it with warmth and joy.

Ho'ola has overcome incredible odds. After being rescued from a heartbreaking situation where she suffered an eye injury due to blunt force trauma, this sweetheart was emaciated and full of fear. But with tender care from an amazing group of people, and a sprinkle of love, she has started to bloom! 🌼 While she still carries some emotional scars, she’s made tremendous progress and is learning to trust again.

She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making her a perfect playmate! 🐾 Ho'ola is also nearly house trained and shows her intelligence and eagerness to learn every day. This little star is looking for someone with a big heart and plenty of patience to help her continue her journey of healing.

If you have a cozy spot in your home and are ready to give Ho'ola the loving forever home she deserves, she’s waiting for you! 💖 Every day she grows stronger and more confident, and she’s hoping to share her love and cuddles with someone special.

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! 🥰

**Ho'ola** is spayed and is currently on a journey to emotional recovery, but she is already showing her brave spirit! Come meet her and see if you can be the one to help her write her next chapter of happiness!

**Rescue Info:** Ho'ola is in the care of a dedicated rescue organization that is committed to finding her the perfect home. Don’t miss the chance to give this incredible girl the love she’s been waiting for! Apply for the pet here: https://tinyurl.com/mpdzt3v8

More about this rescue

Big Island Dogs Rehoming and Resources Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based on Hawaiʻi Island. We are a dedicated dog rescue charity committed to giving every dog the second chance they deserve. We rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs, providing them with essential medical care, safe shelter, and the unconditional love they’ve been missing, as well as assist the community in various needs such as rehoming, transportation to clinics and education.

We are holistically minded, believing that a dog’s well-being goes far beyond basic care. Our approach supports the whole animal....body, mind, and spirit, so every dog has the opportunity to heal fully and thrive.

In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, we provide education and resources to help people support their dogs in living healthier, happier lives. From guidance on nutrition and natural wellness to tools that promote a robust immune system, we empower owners with knowledge that can make a lifelong difference.

Through fostering, adoption, outreach, and community programs, we strive to build a world where every dog is cared for compassionately and holistically. Every donation, volunteer effort, and act of kindness helps transform a dog’s life and strengthens the human-animal bond along the way.
