My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the delightful Lily Bear, a 3-year-old sweetheart weighing in at a cuddly 70 lbs! 🐾 This gorgeous mixed breed is looking for a loving home where she can shower her family with affection and joy. Lily Bear is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated, ready to embark on her next adventure with you!

Lily Bear is as lovable as her name suggests! With her gentle nature and affectionate personality, she’ll make an amazing indoor companion. She adores being close to her people and thrives on attention. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or wagging her tail when she sees you, this girl is all about love! ❤️

Lily Bear currently shares her space with her buddy, Zoro, and they are both ready to bring double the joy to a forever family. These two lovely pups have vibrant personalities and get along well with other dogs. They’re a little bit of energy wrapped in love, and while they may need some training to refine their excitement, they’ve shown nothing but friendliness—no aggression here, just pure joy! They’ve even been great around smaller children, proving they have hearts as big as their barks! 🐶

These furry companions will alert you when someone’s near, making them fantastic watchdogs, but don’t let that fool you—they’re also big softies who love to cuddle and play! If you have room in your heart and home for one or both of these precious pups, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Located in Pahoa, Lily Bear is ready to meet her new best friend!

More about this rescue

Big Island Dogs Rehoming and Resources Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based on Hawaiʻi Island. We are a dedicated dog rescue charity committed to giving every dog the second chance they deserve. We rescue abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs, providing them with essential medical care, safe shelter, and the unconditional love they’ve been missing, as well as assist the community in various needs such as rehoming, transportation to clinics and education.

We are holistically minded, believing that a dog’s well-being goes far beyond basic care. Our approach supports the whole animal....body, mind, and spirit, so every dog has the opportunity to heal fully and thrive.

In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, we provide education and resources to help people support their dogs in living healthier, happier lives. From guidance on nutrition and natural wellness to tools that promote a robust immune system, we empower owners with knowledge that can make a lifelong difference.

Through fostering, adoption, outreach, and community programs, we strive to build a world where every dog is cared for compassionately and holistically. Every donation, volunteer effort, and act of kindness helps transform a dog’s life and strengthens the human-animal bond along the way.
