Meet Petunia!
Despite her name, this girl is no delicate or wilting summer flower. When Petunia was found as a stray by Providence Animal Control, she was scared, skinny, and in need of a little love. It took a few minutes and a handful of treats to earn her trust, but then she showed us her sweet and playful personality. Petunia loves to chase toys, tear the squeakers from her stuffies, play a competitive game of tug, and shred cardboard boxes in search of hidden treats. But once all that is done? She’s up for a nap and snuggle time with her people. She’s still young, estimated to be about 1-2 years old, and is quickly returning to a healthy weight. Though we don’t know much of Petunia’s past, she is currently thriving in foster care and her foster family only gave good things to say about her. She’s house trained, well behaved, and enjoying the company of a smaller, playful dog.

You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.
When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.
