Meet Mira — Short for Miracle
5 years old • Spayed • 37.8 lbs (goal 50–55 lbs) • UTD on vaccines & preventions
Hound Mix • Gentle Soul • Dog- & Kid-Friendly
Some dogs survive the unimaginable… and still choose love.
That’s Mira.
Her name is short for Miracle — because surviving what she endured truly was one. Mira was found locked away in a cage, abandoned, and no longer being fed. By the time help arrived, she had lost an alarming amount of weight and her body showed every sign of neglect. But even then… she still wagged her tail when someone finally opened that door. Despite everything, Mira is one of the most tender-hearted, forgiving, gentle souls we’ve ever met.
Personality
Mira is believed to be a hound mix, and she carries the best traits of one:
• A soft curiosity
• A love for exploring new smells
• A calm, quiet nature
• And a heart that clings to her humans like they are her whole world
Her favorite thing isn’t toys or treats — it’s being close to someone who loves her. She will rest her head on your lap, lean gently into your side, and look at you like she’s finally safe.
What Makes Mira Special
• Extremely sweet & gentle
• Gets along beautifully with all dogs
• Wonderful with children
• Clean in her kennel — she keeps her area tidy
• Calm but curious — loves to explore but is more of a cuddler
• Loyal, humble, and deeply affectionate
Right now she weighs 37.8 pounds, but with consistent meals and care she will fill out to a healthy 50–55 pounds. She’s already gaining steadily and her coat and energy get better every day.
Mira’s Perfect Home
Mira would thrive in a loving home where she can:
Follow her people from room to room
Snooze at someone’s feet
Take gentle walks to sniff and explore
Be the quiet, calm companion she longs to be
She doesn’t ask for much — just kindness, consistency, and someone who understands that she is still healing from heartbreak she didn’t deserve.
** Mira’s miracle began the day she was rescued…Now she just needs the family who will finish her story.**
If you’re ready to love a dog who will adore you for the rest of her life, Mira is waiting. Fill out an adoption application. Her $300 adoption application covers medical care to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
