Meet Sugar Bell
Sugar Bell is a senior hound with the gentlest soul you could ever meet. At around 7–8 years old and 60–65 pounds, she is the definition of a soft, kindhearted old lady who has nothing but love left to give.
She does wonderfully with respectful, gentle children, but she would not do well in a home with kids who are loud, invasive, or prone to pulling. Sugar Bell thrives in calm, peaceful environments where her boundaries are honored and her quiet nature is appreciated.
She is great with other dogs and enjoys playing—but when she’s done, she’s done. She will happily wander off to rest, nap, and enjoy the peace like the graceful lady she is becoming. A quiet home would be ideal for her.
Sugar Bell loves leash walks, and watching her walk is truly a joy. Her long, lanky legs give her an elegant, beautiful gait, and her stunning coloring makes her stand out everywhere she goes. When it’s time to relax, her favorite place in the world is a big, comfortable dog bed. She is also crate trained.
Sugar Bell is boundary-collar trained and has done very well with it. She would need a short adjustment period in a new environment, but she would thrive with consistent reinforcement and clear boundaries—something she has already shown she understands beautifully.
When Sugar Bell first came to us, she was nearly gone—starved, hairless, and found miles out in the woods, barely holding on. We believe she may have been a hunting dog that got lost or was heartbreakingly dumped. Despite everything she’s endured, Sugar Bell remains incredibly gentle, forgiving, and full of love.
She is so deserving of a soft, quiet life—one filled with warm beds, peaceful walks, and people who truly see her. Letting her go will be incredibly hard, but watching her find the life she’s always deserved will be worth it.
If you’re looking for a calm, soulful companion who just wants peace and kindness, Sugar Bell may be your perfect match. If you would like Sugar Bell to join your family please fill out an adoption application. Her $200 adoption fee covers medical up to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, heartworm treatment, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to New York.
