My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful, soulful mare was born in NY and quickly acquired the barn name “Flirt” due to her precocious, people-oriented nature.

She eventually made her way down to Virginia and was part of the schooling program at the former East Coast Equestrian facility in VA Beach. Diamond was scooped up by a friend of her current owner ten years ago and was initially ridden more ambitiously for sport. Once that owner leveled up to a warmblood, Diamond was gifted to her dear friend, and became part of an inseparable his and hers horse-loving duo.

Diamond loves all kinds of people and being outside in her field. Her current owner believes she pays attention to, and can even interpret what people are saying. She particularly enjoys when folks tell her she’s pretty and will flash her eyes and focus on them. Her owner also shared an anecdote from when Diamond was very interested in and nuzzling a friend’s abdomen. It was later revealed that she was pregnant to the surprise of everyone, except presumably Diamond. Unfortunately, her former owner’s health and financial issues have forced this sweet mare into a vulnerable position where she needs to find a safe home.

About three years ago, Diamond started to show lameness on her front left, and went on stall rest. She has not been restarted since then, and her vet thinks it would be best if she remained a companion only horse.

Diamond’s Details:
