My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read this post in its entirety. Please acknowledge that you have done so. Your response serves as your preliminary application. Please provide the requested information. I cannot stress that enough. I need more than "I want a dog, live in a house, and will love him".

Introducing Beth Blackstone, an 8-week-old presumed red-heeler Beagle mix puppy found abandoned on the railroad tracks; this area is a gathering place for 'the unhoused'. I immediately took her to the veterinarian to test for parvo! Whew- negative. She did have a few sores, which are being treated. This little 6-pound doll is estimated to be about 40 pounds at adulthood. She is learning her potty manners and now keeping company with Nanny Nimm. Nanny Nimm is a super senior who is blind, deaf, and has no teeth. She is a grumpy old lady who has resigned herself to having a bed-buddy. She is also looking for a gentle place to land for the rest of her days. Beth has been wormed, first shots, and parasite prevention.

If you want to inquire, please remember she is a puppy. Your things are her chew toys, and your floors are her potty-time training ground. She has not shown to be an indiscriminate chewer. You will agree to have her spayed and provide proof thereof that you have done so at an age determined by your veterinarian or by the age of one year old. You will not breed her- be it by accident or design.

Tell us about you, your family, your activities, your property, the city you live in, other pets in your home, and whatever else puts you on top. The more information about you, the better. What can this companion expect from you, and what are your expectations of him/her? Additionally, we will not meet halfway. Please prepare to meet in person without hurry, and be willing to have a home evaluation and viewing of your social media. There is a fee for placement to offset medical and care. Age-appropriate placement is at the discretion of the guardian advocate. Please allow several or more days for a response, as I review inquiries. I appreciate your understanding—Raleigh's Rescue Advocacy. *DNA testing is not performed, and we can only give you an assumed breed or breed mix.

More about this rescue

I am and have been an active guardian advocate for dogs here in Josephine County, Oregon. . The animals under my charge often come from owners who are deceased, entering assisted living, or for some reason have met with a life event that requires placement of the pet.
