My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Milo

From a throwaway scrap to a heart throb!
Milo is about 3-4 years old and weighs 15 lbs. soft fluffy black curls, with white cheeks, eyebrows, legs, and chest - extremely handsome.

Affectionate once he gets to trust you. Gets on well with the other dogs in the house except for one! She’s a very old senior (23 years old) who, for whatever reason, he just doesn’t like 🤷‍♀️ (she’s 15lbs). My other dogs are 23lbs, 19lbs, and 8lbs.

House trained - no accidents at all! Sleeps in an open crate inside an x-pen. Does not bark when left alone, or at night - great for apartment dwellers. Likes to be outside and sit in the sun.

He does guard his food, but that could be the result of living in the streets and not knowing where his next meal is coming from. While he doesn’t really play with stuffies/toys he does like to pile them up.

He’s met my neighbors and their little girl (6). He got very excited and kept jumping on them - you’ll have to work on that. We also met a very large dog out on our walk and that when well.

He was an absolute matted mess when he was rescued - who knew what a gorgeous pup was under all the mats and filth!

Arrange a meet and greet asap as he won’t be available for long.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
