My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Charlie, and here’s a little more about me:

My Journey
I’m a 3-month-old kitten from a litter of five, all named after the beloved Charlie Brown characters. I’m still getting used to life with humans, and while loud noises can sometimes startle me, I’m learning every day that the world can be a safe and loving place.

My Social Life
Other cats: I love other cats, especially my siblings, and really thrive with feline companionship.
Dogs: I haven’t met dogs yet, so slow and gentle introductions would be best.
Kids: I’d do best with gentle, patient kids who understand that I’m still building my confidence.

My Personality
Gentle, soft-hearted, and quietly brave. I’m still coming out of my shell, but I make progress every day. Once I feel safe—especially once I’m picked up—I start purring right away. I may be shy at first, but I have a lot of love to give.

I Enjoy…
Churus (my absolute favorite treat!)
Playing with my siblings and other kittens
Crinkle balls on a wand—best toy ever
Being gently picked up and cuddled
Showing off my incredibly soft fur

I’m Not a Fan Of…
Loud or sudden noises
Being rushed before I’m ready

What Makes Me Special
My instant purrs once I’m in your arms and my super-soft fur make cuddle time extra special. Watching my confidence grow is incredibly rewarding—I’m a little guy with a big heart.

My Perfect Home
I’d thrive in a calm, loving home with another kitten or a friendly resident cat to help me continue building confidence. A patient family who enjoys helping a shy kitten blossom would be the perfect match for me.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
