My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Sprite and here is a little more about me :

My Social Life
Other cats ? I get along well with other kitties and truly enjoy having company—I can feel a bit lonely when I’m by myself. Whether it’s a friendly human or a feline sibling, I love having someone to share my day with.
Dogs ? I’m still a little unsure about dogs and would need slow, gentle introductions.
Kids ? I’ve never met children but might enjoy them with time

My Personality
Talkative, energetic, and delightfully insistent—I know what I want and I’m not shy about telling you! I can be a little timid at first, but once I feel safe and comfortable, my confident and expressive side really shines.

I Enjoy…
A wide variety of toys—mice, balls, tracks, you name it
Interactive play that keeps me engaged and moving
Climbing and perching up high so I can watch the world below
Treats (they’re the fastest way to my heart!)

I’m Not a Fan Of…
Being carried on my back—thank you for understanding my personal preferences!

What Makes Me Special
I’m a beautiful orange calico with a touch of spice. I may seem a little shy or sassy at first, but offer me a few treats and a bit of patience, and I’ll warm up quickly and show you my affectionate side.

My Perfect Home
My ideal home includes another friendly kitty (especially a sibling!), plenty of climbing spaces, and humans who understand that confidence sometimes blooms with a little time and space. Once I’m settled, I’ll happily explore, play, and chat with you—sometimes quite demandingly—about everything that’s on my mind.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
