My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 4 months

He`s gentle, he`s snuggly, and he`s ready to find his forever home... meet Hugo!

This sweet, polite puppy has awed his former foster parent with his great manners and love for cuddling and napping. He greets new people with a happy tail and quiet confidence. He`s a soft and thoughtful pup who enjoys toys, warm indoor spaces (snow is not his favourite!), and cozy time with his humans. Hugo has lived with cats in his foster home and did wonderfully, very curious and respectful. He`s also been an excellent houseguest: he sleeps quietly in his kennel, made regular trips outside, and even began letting his people know when he needed a potty break!

Like all puppies, Hugo will need continued positive reinforcement training, structure, patience, and lots of love to help him grow into the amazing dog he`s meant to be. If you`re looking for a calm, cuddly companion, Hugo might be the perfect addition to your home! Come meet him at the shelter today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
