My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Onyx – A Smart, Playful Boy Who’s Ready to Thrive Outside the Kennel 🐾
📅 Age: ~1 year
🐶 Breed: American Bully Mix
⚖️ Weight: ~50 lbs
💉 Status: Fully Vetted, Neutered, Ready for Adoption

Onyx is a bright, energetic young dog with an impressive training foundation and a whole lot of potential. He’s incredibly smart—already knowing sit, down, stay, and even “watch me”—and he’s highly food motivated, making him a joy to work with. Once he gets past his initial excitement, he walks nicely on leash and shows good impulse control for his age.

In the kennel environment, Onyx struggles with stress, showing constant panting and pacing. This appears to be situational kennel stress rather than a reflection of who he truly is. Outside the kennel, he shines: during a Doggy Day Out, Onyx did amazing, stayed calm when another dog snapped at him, and proved himself to be dog-friendly, resilient, and emotionally stable in real-world settings.

Onyx is social, playful, and affectionate, with “happy zoomies” that come from excitement—not poor manners. He does best when he has mental stimulation, structure, and a chance to move his body. His strong training base and positive outings speak volumes about his true nature.

🐶 Onyx at a Glance:

Kennel-stressed but thrives outside of it

🏡 Onyx’s Ideal Home:

A home environment where he can decompress from kennel life

Onyx isn’t defined by the stress of shelter life—he’s defined by his intelligence, resilience, and joyful spirit. With the right environment, he’s going to blossom into an incredible companion. 🖤🐾We are open to the public Tuesday - Sunday (1PM - 5PM)! No Appointments required!
