My foster writes: Princess "Maomao" is affectionate kitty with a calm, gentle temperament. She greets people by rolling onto her back for little tummy rubs and is expressive and talkative, forming a close bond with her person. She enjoys following you around or racing ahead excitedly, but is not overly energetic or demanding. She loves companionship and will happily sit beside you while you work or watch TV, content just to be near. She has never been aggressive and is exceptionally sweet and trusting-you can even trim her nails with little resistance. She has stunning coloring and a youthful, playful side, proudly bringing her favorite stuffed toy mice each morning. She's a loving, calm cat who truly enjoys being part of everyday life.
A volunteer writes: Princess Mononoke was brought to the care center with friend Jack the Pirate as their owner sadly passed away. Jack the Pirate was a happy go lucky kind of guy and was adopted very quickly. Princess Mononoke took her loss very hard and is not yet ready to move on with her life. She is trying, though, hides less and less, rolls submissively on her side when a visitor is at her door, even briefly leans into pets but then quickly goes back into hiding. Being in a shelter environment is not helping, naturally. A home and an understanding new owner would provide her with a safe, caring and loving environment and heal her "wounds".Princess Mononoque needs to be given a chance at "smiling" again. No doubts about it, she has a lot of love to give and for many years to come. Ask to meet Princess Mononoke when you visit us at the Manhattan Care Center! Primary Color: Tabby Weight: 9.13 Age: 6yrs 2mths 3wks
