My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joy! 🐾🖤

Joy is an adorable 6-month-old Black Lab puppy bursting with energy, curiosity, and affection. With her shiny black coat, bright eyes, and playful personality, she’s the kind of pup who brings happiness wherever she goes.

This sweet little girl loves to explore, chase toys, and interact with her people. She’s eager to learn, loves attention, and is full of the classic Labrador puppy charm—friendly, outgoing, and always ready for fun.

Joy is ready to find her forever family—a loving home that will guide her, play with her, and give her the care and attention she needs to grow into a happy, healthy adult. 🖤

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
