Meet Baxter, an almost 1-year-old, 12-pound Shih-Tzu mix who would love to fill this role!
Shih Tzus are known to be good companions, making them ideal lap dogs.
Baxter’s foster describes him as a 'velcro dog' who is a little shy around men and people in general at first meeting. Once he warms up, he loves to sit in your lap anytime you sit down!
Due to his shy nature, a quieter home with older children who respect his need to go slow at first while he adjusts would be ideal. Baxter gets along with other dogs. He has a lower energy level but enjoys a leashed walk. He enjoys playing with squeaky toys and stuffies. Baxter is mostly house-trained, but he still has occasional accidents. He is crate-trained but prefers to sleep in your bed.

Our team will work on your application. Once approved, the foster parent will contact you for a meet and greet.

The foster will reach out to set up a meet and greet.

Take the Pet Home
If everyone agrees that the adoption is a good fit, you will sign our contract, pay their adoption fee and the dog can go home!

Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.

Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
