My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Woof* I`m in a foster home! Email my foster caregiver to meet me: lilde11@icloud.com

Washington Commanders’ Defensive End Jake Martin is helping out the big dogs this month with his 55 Rescue Drive! Jake is reducing my adoption fee to only $55!

This Lou is too good to be true! Seriously, this pup is the perfect gentleman in dog form! He is calm and walks with a distinguished air around him -- you can just picture him wearing his Sunday Best -- every day. He is also a very handsome pup -- with his gorgeous evenly gray coat. Mr. Lou loves his friends and his walks here plus he`s a smart, affectionate dog. At three years old he has just the right amount of life experience under his belt and is settled into his dog-personality. Lou should be the only animal in the home - but his calm and gentle nature will make him a gregarious and enjoyable companion. Come and meet Lou Too-Good-To-Be-True!

More about this shelter

At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.

With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our two campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
