My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aloha! My name is Ono, and I’m a 2½-year-old Chocolate Lab mix with 60 pounds of sweetness, wiggles, and sunshine. I’m a happy, energetic girl who loves life, loves people, and really loves adventure. If you’re looking for a dog who brings joy and excitement everywhere she goes, that’s me!

My absolute favorite place in the world is the beach. The sand, the waves, the smells, I can’t get enough of it! I’m always ready for a game of fetch, a splash in the water, or a long walk where I can stretch my legs and enjoy the outdoors. After all that fun, I’m just as happy to curl up close and soak in some affection.

I’m friendly, playful, and eager to be part of everything my humans do. I’d be thrilled to join an active family who appreciates my enthusiasm and gives me plenty of time to run, explore, and enjoy the world.

If you’re searching for a joyful, beach-loving best friend with a huge heart and a whole lot of energy, I think we’d be a perfect match. I can’t wait to meet my forever family! Adopt me today!

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
