My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is William and I am looking for a forever home.  I was found wandering around a Dollar General parking lot when a nice lady took me in and tried finding my owners.  When she tried everything she could and no one came looking for me, she contacted a small local rescue about taking me; a volunteer with that rescue then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  I was super scared when I first came into foster but everyone was so nice and patient with me, it wasn't long before I came out of my shell and now I love getting attention, belly rubs and treats. I am a shy when first meeting new people and going into new situations, but the with the 3 T's (time,TLC and treats), it won't be long before I become your best friend.  I appear to be some type of small terrier mix, but whatever I'm a mix with my foster mom says I'm a handsome little guy with a cute underbite.  While I may look a little grumpy in my pictures, I'm really not but was just scared with that black box facing me.  I have gotten along with the other small dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats who are all mostly bigger than me (I'm only a little over 8lbs and at around 10mos old, shouldn't get too much bigger).  I have done well in my crate without any accidents once, barking or tearing up of my bedding; however, I would prefer to be out with you.  Once I have learned to trust you, I do ok on leash but would love a fenced yard that I can keep me safe while I run around, explore and take care of my business.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Their adoption process

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
