Meet Marisol
2–3 years old | 12 lbs | Arriving in Morristown, NJ around on December 28th
Marisol is a small pup with a big heart who’s ready for her second chance. She was rescued by The Sato Project from a devastating hoarding case in Manatí, Puerto Rico, where she lived in a home with over 30 dogs. Life was hard, but Marisol is finally safe — and on her way to something better.
She is now healthy and preparing to fly to Morristown, NJ, where she hopes to find the loving family she’s never had.
Because of her past, Marisol may be shy or cautious at first, but she’s full of quiet resilience. With patience and compassion, she’ll begin to trust and show her sweet, gentle nature.
She would thrive in a calm, understanding home that allows her to settle in at her own pace and offers the stability she needs to flourish.
Marisol is ready to leave the past behind — and finally know what it feels like to be truly loved.

The Sato Project is dedicated to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs from Puerto Rico. There are currently an estimated 500,000 stray dogs roaming the island’s streets and beaches. With no access to food, fresh water, or veterinary care, many of these dogs are living daily lives of severe suffering. The municipal shelter system is drastically overwhelmed, with only five shelters across all 78 of the island’s municipalities. These shelters have a combined euthanasia rate of over 94%. For thousands of stray and abandoned dogs in the area in which we operate, we are their only hope.
