Mister is a friendly, handsome, salt and pepper boy with tattered ears who has weathered more than any cat should. He lived as an outdoor stray for at least nine months, cared for by a neighbor who eventually signed him up for one of our community spay/neuter clinics. Though our clinic was full, we made an exception for Mister — and we’re so glad we did. His exam showed multiple broken teeth needing urgent care, badly infected ears with ear mites, fleas, anemia, and a painful lump on his back. Mister underwent dental surgery to remove one abscessed tooth and four damage teeth. He will need one more canine tooth extraction in February. The lump on his back, which was removed, contained a pellet from a pellet gun — a heartbreaking reminder of what he has survived. Despite everything, Mister is an incredibly sweet, lovable guy with a gentle spirit. He deserves so much better than the hardships he’s endured, and he’s finally getting the medical care and comfort he has long needed. Mister tolerates other cats well but is understandably fearful of dogs — not uncommon for a cat who spent months fending for himself outdoors. He's been friendly from the start. He can be timid with new places and fast movements or loud noises. He'll do best with experienced cat people in a calm home without small children.
