Meet Dennis! 💛🐾
If sunshine could turn into a puppy, it would absolutely be Dennis. This seven-month-old rescue pup is one big ball of sweetness wrapped in soft tan-apricot fur and topped off with the goofiest puppy grin you’ve ever seen. We think he might be a German Shepherd/Lab mix — but with rescue, it’s always a bit of a mystery! Whatever he is, he’s 100% lovebug and 0% trouble.
Dennis is the definition of a velcro dog. Once he knows you, he’s sticking by your side like your very own fuzzy little shadow. He adores people with his whole heart and has zero shame about showing it. Within minutes of meeting you, he’ll be rolling on his back for belly rubs, wagging his tail a million miles an hour, and trying his very best to cover your face in kisses. During his kid test, he smothered a sweet 7-year-old boy in so many kisses that everyone was laughing — it was pure puppy love overload. Because Dennis loves so big, older kids might be best for him, just so he doesn’t knock anyone over in his excitement to share all that affection!

He’s also a total sweetheart with other dogs. Dennis greets new dog friends calmly and kindly, and while he’s still learning how to play, he’s happiest being near them. Having a confident dog sibling would help him blossom even faster — he takes comfort from furry friends and tends to follow their lead. He’s just figuring out the world, and another dog could help show him how wonderful it is.
And guess what? This boy is cat tolerant! When he met Biggie the cat, he was polite, curious for a moment, and then walked away like a little gentleman. That’s huge for a puppy his age!
Dennis is still working on his leash skills and confidence with new environments. Right now, he can be a bit shy when things feel new or overwhelming. But once he warms up, he turns into a bouncy, happy, snuggly puppy who’s ready to explore and love life. He’ll thrive in a home with a yard where he can zoom, play, and build his confidence at his own pace. With patience, gentle encouragement, and maybe a dog friend to cheer him on, he’ll blossom into the most loyal, loving companion you could ask for.
He’s still a puppy, so he’ll need a family ready to help him keep learning — but the reward will be worth it. Dennis is one of those once-in-a-lifetime kind of dogs who will love his people endlessly. He’s sweet, silly, and so full of heart that it almost spills out of him. Whether he’s cuddled up in your lap, trotting alongside his dog friends, or showering you in kisses, Dennis just wants to love and be loved.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
