Her name be Rebecca Cuddles but this girl is so sweet that she has adopted the nickname "Shuggs" because that's just how sweet she is. Her foster mom just couldn't help herself when giving her that nickname because it was just too fitting. With her soulful eyes, soft fur, and gentle spirit, Rebecca is the kind of dog who makes you fall in love at first paw. Emphasis on, "at first paw" LOL. It's her signature move. Her trademark. The Shugg's stamp of approval. And her way of saying, "more loving please." You'll see her doing it in her video and whenever her perspective family talks with her foster, that will be one of the very first things that is talked about. Rebecca is so silly and will literally give you her paw just asking for you to hold it. Almost like she wants to hold hands with you, but in this case, it's hold paws LOL. In all honesty, there is so much to love about Rebecca aka Shuggs, you simply cannot list them all. All she needs is a little time to get in her groove and the rest is history.
Watch her video and fall head over heels for this sweet lady:
At around 3 years old and 50 pounds, Rebecca is the perfect mid-size snuggle buddy. We think she’s a pittie/lab mix, but as a true Texas Special, she’s really just the best of everything!
Rebecca adores her humans — she’s the kind of girl who will curl up beside you on the couch, rest a paw gently in your hand, and look at you like you hung the moon. Her love language is definitely physical touch, and she’s all about those cozy moments.
But don’t let that soft demeanor fool you — she’s not a full-time couch potato and has a playful side to her as well. Shuggs loves to be outdoors, enjoys her yard time, followed by a little play, maybe even a zoomie session, and following her dog friends around the yard. That’s right —Shuggs is very much a “dogs need dogs” kind of gal. She’s currently living with five other laid-back pups, and they’ve been key to helping her feel safe and confident. Having a calm, friendly canine buddy in the home would really help her thrive — plus, it brings out her playful side!
She’s also got six — yes, six — cats in her foster home, and she gets along swimmingly with them. Rebecca is polite, respectful, and unbothered by feline antics. She’d be a great match for a home with dog-savvy cats while also having another doggy friend as well. It's the best of both worlds, the perfect mix and also the reason for such a harmonious relationship.
Rebecca would do best in a home that’s a little more on the peaceful side — think fenced yard over apartment living, and maybe not smack in the middle of a busy city. Shuggs has been around kids ranging in ages from 4 years old to teen years and has done great with both age groups. She is very gentle, always sweet, and respectful. We briefly mentioned in her intro that she needs a little time to get into her groove. What we mean by that is Shuggs is shy at first and likes to get her bearings, feel things out and then that social butterfly we all know her to be blossoms and soars. When it comes to kids and also dogs, that same interaction will still be true. A little space to get in her groove and the rest is history.
She’s truly the best of both worlds: affectionate and cuddly, but also youthful and still up for a little fun. If you're looking for a one-dog show, she’s probably not your girl — but if you’ve got a nice pup at home who’s ready to share the love (and maybe the couch), Rebecca could be the missing piece to your pack.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
