My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Let me introduce you to Rosie, she is a playful girl with a love for laser-chasing, dog-playing by–your-side girl, who goes the most hilarious move when she is getting her beloved booty scratches. Rosie is fostered in a loving home which is so amazing because not only does she get to practice all her best house manners while she waits for you but we also get a front row seat to her quirks and cuteness.

Rosie is estimated to be just about 2.5 years old, she weighs 40 lbs, and her breed? Well, we can’t guarantee breed given she is a rescue but on top of that- look at her. What do you see? Well we see Weimeraner, Short-Haired Pointer, Pittie… so in short, your guess is as good as ours. She is small and cute and rescued! Rosie has already learned so much, and with continued support, she’ll keep blooming.
Take a look at her here then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/6lJoVtwkN04

In her foster home, Rosie settled in surprisingly fast. She follows her foster from room to room (full velcro mode), keeps a gentle eye on the household, and curls up to relax when the house is quiet. She’s house and crate trained, has great house-manners, and is eager to please in the home. Her foster shared:

“She’s a little shy, but she adapts quickly. She knows sit, down, wait, and we’re working on paw. She’s so eager to learn.”
She’s also playful in the sweetest ways - laser games, wrestles with familiar dog friends, and has the happiest bursts of excitement at home that really show her warm, goofy side. Outside the home you can see Rosie’s shyness a bit more clearly. Loud noises and busy environments can be a bit overwhelming to her. She isn’t the dog that is going to pull you to meet passing strangers or new dogs, it's just not what she is interested in while out on walks. It’s a big wide world and Rosie likes her quiet corner by your side. With you by her side she is easily guided, listens well and moves forward without issue. When her foster saw this in her it was easy for her to walk during calmer, quieter times and she was thanked with a confident walking partner. She would not thrive in a dense, busy city, but a home in a quieter suburban or residential area would be a great fit.

Rosie currently lives with a 6-year-old Lab and an 11-year-old Chihuahua and did well once she was given time to relax and learn the routines of a new home. Once given that time, she played beautifully with dogs and gravitates towards easygoing, friendly male dogs who won’t overwhelm her with pushy, insistent play.

She has previously lived with children ages 5–15 and did well, but because she is jumpy when excited she would be best with school-aged children (7+) who can understand that the best friendships take a little time and are willing to take it slow at first.

Her ideal home is one that is simple, no bustling big city living, a home with a yard would be dreamy but it isnt necessary as long as she gets regular physical and mental excercise and time in the outdoors. She would love an easygoing dog friend, optional but so helpful, and if you love a routine- she does too! And if you can understand that her heart is big, but her bravery may take a moment to catch up, then she will be right where she needs to be and you will get thanks in the form of an affectionate, goofy, playful, and deeply loyal girl with so much sweetnes and heaps of love to share.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
