Meet Butternut Squash, the sweetest squishiest little toothless tiny terrier you will ever see. Someone discarded her for reasons unknown- their loss, as she will bring so much joy to someone who appreciates her. Her 5 remaining teeth looked more like fossils, loose and caked in tartar, and she feel much better with them gone and is still tonguing down small bites of dry food like a champ. She got spayed and had a couple tiny mammary tumors removed too and is bouncing back nicely. She is slow-moving but teeters around with her tail up and a slight spring in her step still, gets along with other mellow dogs but will stand up for herself still if they get in her face too much, and sounds like a baby goat when she whines for attention. We are 80% sure she’s a Norwich Terrier, a very rare find in rescue- she’s tinier than a cairn at just 10lbs. We don’t know her age and a lady doesn’t tell, so we are just going with 10+++ 🤷♀️ Her bloodwork was great and she still has a lot of living to do hopefully

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
