My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Beatrice! ✨

Just look at that face! Beatrice is a 5-year-old pitty/staffy mix (we think!) with the world’s happiest smile and a heart just as big. She’s the kind of dog who makes every day brighter — whether she’s greeting you with her signature full-body wiggle, showing off her toy-tossing skills, or leaning in for her beloved booty scratches. This girl is pure sunshine with paws!

Beatrice is the perfect mix of playful and chill. She’s got enough pep in her step to go on adventures with you — whether that’s a romp in the yard, a car ride, or some light exploring — but she’s also perfectly content to curl up beside you and just be. She’s the type of dog who will always remind you to slow down, smile, and enjoy the simple things (like belly rubs and squeaky toys).

Go watch her in action here!

Speaking of toys… Beatrice is obsessed. She’ll toss them in the air, chase them around, and then look at you like, “Did you see that? I’m hilarious.” Watching her play is genuinely one of the best things ever — she’s a one-dog entertainment show who can make you laugh every single day.

When it comes to people, Beatrice is a total lovebug. She melts when you pet her and will happily lean her whole body against you just to be close. She’s affectionate, loyal, and has that soulful look in her eyes that makes you feel like she truly gets you. She’s a dog who wants to be your best friend, your cuddle buddy, and your biggest cheerleader all in one.

In her ideal world, Beatrice would prefer to be your one and only pup — she likes having her humans all to herself! That said, with a super calm, easygoing male dog who gives her space and doesn’t get in her face, she might do okay. She’s not a fan of overly excitable dogs or pushy greetings, so she’d thrive most in a home where she can just relax and not have to share attention all the time.

No cats for Beatrice — she’s just a little too interested in them. And apartment life probably isn’t her scene either, since she’s still learning how to walk nicely on a leash. A home with a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs, play with her toys, and do her zoomies would be her absolute dream.

Beatrice is super smart and very trainable — she loves treats and responds so well when she knows it’s training time. She’s eager to please and has such a good heart; she just needs a family willing to keep helping her polish her leash manners and build her confidence.

We think she could do great with kids — she’s such a gentle, people-loving girl — but we’d want to do a kid test first to make sure everyone’s a perfect match.

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will make you laugh every day and love you with her whole heart, Beatrice is your girl. She’s silly, she’s sweet, she’s beautiful — and she’s ready to find her forever family. 💕

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
