WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.
Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.
NAME: Glinda
BREED: Yorkshire Terrier
DOB: Apr 3, 2018 (7 years 8 months)
Home Recommendation: Glinda would do best in a loving home where she can be close to her people and enjoy plenty of cuddle time. She thrives on affection and likes to be part of her persons daily life. Glinda would be a wonderful companion for someone looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who brings both sweetness and curiosity to their home.
WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Glinda spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. Thankfully, WISE was able to step in and rescue her giving her a second chance to experience the love and warmth of a real home. Now shes ready to start that new chapter!
Personality: Glinda is an incredibly sweet and affectionate girl who loves to snuggle and stay close to her person. Shes a gentle explorer, happily sniffing her way through the world and taking in every new scent. Glinda is becoming more curious about toysshell proudly carry them around or even curl up and nap on them. Shes also very food-motivated, which makes bonding and training with her extra fun.

Training: Glinda is doing wonderfully with her crateshe settles in quietly, doesnt bark or fuss, and sleeps through the night with no accidents. In the morning, she waits patiently to be let out. Shes still working on her leash skills, but shes making progress. Glinda uses wee-wee pads reliably in an enclosed pen and knows she can earn a reward for going in the right spot, which makes continued potty training much easier.
