Bindi is a beautiful 1-year-old Poodle and Retriever mix who weighs approximately 50 pounds. She was pulled from a very high-kill shelter in South Texas. She’s now safe and thriving with our rescue and she’s ready for a family who sees her potential and is willing to invest in her training and confidence.

Personality

Bindi is exceptionally sweet with people and loves human attention. She’s affectionate, eager to please, and has that fun, goofy “big puppy energy” that makes her a joy to be around.

Training Needs

Like many young dogs, Bindi didn’t get the early guidance she needed so she’s still learning manners:

  • She sometimes jumps up on people when she gets excited.
  • She’s still learning that counters aren’t snack buffets.
  • Structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help her succeed.

Because of this, she’s not a match for homes with small children who might be knocked over by her enthusiasm.

Separation / Crate Considerations

Bindi can become very anxious in a crate and may vocalize when left alone. She’ll do best with someone who can help her gradually build confidence or a home willing to use alternatives like gated areas, exercise pens, or supervised decompression spaces.

Ideal Home

Bindi would thrive with:

  • A patient, dog-savvy adopter committed to training.
  • Adults or older teens.
  • A predictable routine and plenty of exercise.
  • Someone home more often, or willing to work on her crate/separation anxiety.
  • Another confident, well-mannered dog could be helpful, but not required.

Why Adopt Bindi?

She is incredibly loving, intelligent, and eager to bond. With guidance and structure, she’s going to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion.

If you’re ready to help a deserving young dog learn the ropes and become the best version of herself, Bindi is your girl.

Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.)

You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization.

Her adoption fee is $350. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® Heartworm Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.

Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org.

Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.

Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232.  Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
