My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pongo! This absolutely adorable 1.5-year-old Basset Beagle mix is a truly gentle soul searching for a patient and understanding family.

He's learning that affection is wonderful—he doesn't seek it out yet, but he happily accepts every bit of love offered! We know that with time and patience, his new humans will help him understand that he is able to ask for and receive cuddles and attention.

Pongo enjoys interacting with other dogs or playing games with his humans much more than playing alone. He even gets along famously with cats!

This good boy is a breeze on a leash, comfortable relaxing in his kennel , and loves going for car rides . He’s working diligently on mastering his potty training with a new schedule, so his family should be ready for the occasional accident as he learns. Pongo is ready to start his new life—he is neutered, microchipped, and current on all his vaccines!

Could you be the one to show Pongo how wonderful life can be? Please complete an adoption application at www.pathwaysforpaws.com. If he fits your family and lifestyle, you will be contacted within 48 hours.

Additional adoption info

In some circumstances, meeting the dog and a home check are done at the same time if the dog is ready to be adopted. We do have conversation with potential adopters prior to them meeting the dog. If they are interested in adopting a puppy who is not ready for adoption (not altered, not UTD, etc) they are able to put a hold on the pup until ready for adoption.

More about this rescue

Pathways for Paws was founded in October 2019. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.

Our mission is to make spay/neuter & vaccinations affordable to those in our communities. By achieving this, we will help prevent the neglect & abuse of dogs. All dogs in our care are spay/neutered, given the age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their FURever families.

We work with rescues & fellow animal advocates to continue growing a network of volunteers and supporters.
