My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Karma — the Sweetest Little Shadow You’ll Ever Meet! 🐾

This gorgeous girl was picked up as a stray, and although we located her original owners, she was sadly never claimed. We even have an adorable photo of her as a tiny pup — and yes, she was just as cute then as she is now! 💕

Karma is 2 years old, weighs 45 pounds, and is the perfect “medium-size” companion. Her previous owner believed she was a Border Collie/Pit mix, but we can’t help seeing a little Catahoula in those beautiful features, too!

✨ What Karma Loves:
• People, people, people — she wants someone to hang out with and be close to.
• Being your loyal sidekick and soaking up affection.

🚫 What She Doesn’t Love:
• Other animals. Her previous owner said she’s not good with them, and now that she’s fully vetted, we’ll be doing our own testing too. For now, she’s best as your one-and-only pet.

Karma has been fully vetted and is ready to meet her forever family. If you’d like to get to know this sweetheart, you can stop in to meet her and apply in person, or submit an application on our website.

📣 Please share to help this beautiful girl find the loving home she truly deserves! ❤️ 🐾

More about this shelter

The Lewis County Humane Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which owns and operates a no-kill animal shelter on the Pine Grove Rd in Glenfield, NY. That shelter is contracted with the townships in Lewis County to house dogs brought in from the townships by the dog control officers. The shelter also houses homeless cats from the county.
Our shelter relies on the generosity of our supporters because shelter expenses far exceed our revenue. We greatly appreciate all your support which enables us to care for and find new homes for all the wonderful animals at our shelter.
