My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fern has just arrived and is taking in the world with quiet curiosity and a tender, reserved heart. This soft-spirited tabby is pretty shy right now as everything feels new, but Fern carries an earthy sweetness that shines through even in those early, cautious moments.

Fern thrives in gentle, nurturing environments where patience is offered freely. With time and trust, this quiet companion begins to reveal a warm personality filled with slow blinks, soft purrs and delicate little nudges that say, I feel safe with you.

Peaceful, thoughtful and comfortingly grounded, Fern is the perfect match for someone who appreciates a serene presence and a steady, loyal friend who blooms at their own pace.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
