My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Little Bit! I originally came from down south and have spent much of my young life growing up here at the shelter. The kennel can be a tough place for me and I sometimes feel overwhelmed there, but once you take me out and give me a moment, I start to realize the world isn’t quite as scary as it seems I can be a little slow to warm up to some people, but with patience and kindness, I always get there. Very loud or overly energetic children may be a bit much for me at first, but I do wonderfully with respectful kids once I’ve had time to build trust. One thing I’m very sure about - I love other dogs and would be thrilled to have a doggy sibling to help show me the ropes! I’m sweet, affectionate, and deeply loyal to the people I know. I’m still a puppy, so I’ll need some guidance with my basic manners, but I’m smart and eager to learn with the right support. If you’re someone who believes in giving a shy pup the time she needs to blossom, I promise I’ll reward you with a loving and devoted companion!

HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
