My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pickles, the delightful little gentleman who is wise, quirky, and wonderfully full of character.

Pickles may have the calm, thoughtful air of an old soul, but that's part of what makes him so special. He enjoys quiet moments, sunny spots for napping, and the simple joy of being near his favorite people. Once he warms up and is comfortable, he shows his sweet side with soft looks, gentle companionship, and a warm presence that feels like home.

He's a low-maintenance buddy who appreciates routine, cozy blankets, and a peaceful environment where he can shine as the lovable pup he is. Pickles isn't demanding - just endearing, steady and ready to devote his heart to someone who appreciates a dog with personality and grace.

If you're looking for a charming, mellow companion who will fill your home with smiles and warmth, Pickles is ready to be your little ray of doggy sunshine.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
