Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elphie is back from foster and here is what we know!
Elphie is medical for her severe allergies! She has a strict regimen of special prescribed diet, antifungal medications, eye meds and allergy medications/shots that her adopters will need to follow up with their vets for. PACC provides adopters with 30 days of meds! She is such an amazing dog and will be so worth you care!
Elphie does great with the dogs, really wants to play with the oldest most ancient dog and comes off pushy but is easily redirected. She loves to lay in the middle of the pitbull piles and stay as warm as possible.
She needs proper intros to cats, lives with 4 of them but in the beginning of getting to know on of them, she was pretty rude to the youngest cat and all she wanted to do was hump him and if he would fall down, Elphie would pin him and start growling. We worked with her on `leave it` and she has responds very well and no longer harasses poor 6 year old deaf and Neuro Panther.
-Pigs and Goats, she is NOT a farm dog. She has all the energy in the world to chase and nip at the livestock. She will get hurt by messing with someone much bigger than her BUT when she is good and tired from harassing them, she does come when called and has a pretty good recall (although she is still new to us and we are still working on things)
She is AMAZING in the car, and just settles down in the backseat and loves getting pup-cups at coffee places and is the star of the day when meeting people. On walks, although she is good on leash, she is a lil stubborn and wants to meet EVERY person and she does this by pulling to them so she can sit in front of them, and look deeply into their eyes until they give her attention. Her eyeballs quite literally go into your soul and it cant be escaped.
She is crate trained and mostly house trained. She does not tell you when she has to go potty and she has had 2 accidents in the house but we take our ancient dogs out quite often and she is good about going out with them, although she is NOT a morning person and its hard to get her outta bed especially in the cold. On the farm we are up and out at 5am but we are lucky if we pull her outta bed at 7:30am.
We love this girl to bits, she is much younger than thought at first. She was in such poor shape we had her at 10 years old. But the way she runs at the livestock and her happy bouncy energy, I would say she is more like 3-5 years old.
