Chief has been getting rested, getting his skin needs tended to, rebuilding his strength as he's started on the healing process. His condition has already vastly improved in a few days. He's about 57 lbs, shy, quiet, and with demodex (non-contagious), also he's heart worm positive, not yet neutered and seems to be on the younger side of senior.
He has a GREAT prognosis to return to his full glory with the assistance of a loving helping hand.
Chief is very overwhelmed in the shelter environment and tends to avoid noises and human traffic. His caregiver will need to be patient and allow him to adjust at his own pace.
Due to the pneumovirus protocol in place at Austin Animal Services, dogs will be released only to dog-free homes. He is available for adoption, rescue and foster. A foster will keep him out of the shelter while he heals and finds his forever.
