My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bongos is a 7-year-old male Beagle weighing just under 20 pounds, and he is pure Beagle joy from nose to tail. Sniffy-sniffy nose? Yup!
Happy-go-lucky attitude? Yup!
Glass-half-full outlook on life? Double yup!!

This wonderful little guy doesn’t have a worry in the world. He’s affectionate, cheerful, and always ready to follow his nose wherever the day leads. Bongos also has the sweetest little underbite, which only adds to his already irresistible charm.

He’s the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being himself — and it’s no surprise he’s a staff and volunteer favorite here at UPAWS. We absolutely adore him.

If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will happily trot along beside you and soak up all the love, Bongos just might be your perfect match.

?? Head over to UPAWS.org to fill out an Adoption Interest Form to meet our good boy, Bongos.
As always, please bring your entire household — including any dogs — to meet him.

Bonus happy news! Bongos’ adoption fee has been fully sponsored by Kenny’s Corner Store in Marquette, which means his adoption fee is $0. A huge thank-you to Kenny’s Corner Store for helping Bongos find the loving home he deserves.

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
