My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Apollo 🐾

Apollo is a 14-month-old pit bull with a big personality, a bigger heart, and an endless supply of joy. This sweet wild man is playful, curious, and absolutely loves being near his people. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy who also brings the fun, Apollo is your guy.

He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and spends his days romping around the backyard with his foster siblings, toys in tow. Toys are a must in Apollo’s world, and playtime is one of his favorite things—right alongside snuggling up close to his humans.

Apollo is a smart, food-motivated boy who already knows sit and is currently working on down. Training is going well, especially when treats are involved (fair warning: his favorite game is counter surfing 😄). He’s also learned to use the dog door and has been very reliable about going outside when he needs to.

Now, a few things to know about Apollo’s unique charm: he’s a bit of an escape artist and doesn’t love being left alone in a crate. In fact, he’s managed to break out of several kinds—only to be found later, very proud of himself, relaxing on the couch with a toy. He will lay down calmly in his crate if he knows you’re in the room, because Apollo really just wants company.

Apollo is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, but don’t let that fool you—his spirit is unstoppable, and his happiness shines through every day.

This playful goofball turned cuddle bug is ready for a forever home that will embrace his energy, continue his training, laugh at his antics, and give him the love he craves. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, toy-loving companion, Apollo can’t wait to meet you. ❤️🐶

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Found an animal on our site and want to meet them or find out more about them? Fill out the adoption questionnaire located below and submit to us. Once we have reviewed/approved your application, we will provide you with the foster contact information so that you can find out more and arrange a “meet and greet”. All of our animals are located in foster homes throughout the Triangle area.

When going to a “meet and greet”, please make sure you take any family members and other pets (if at all possible) to observe their interactions. This can make introduction into the new home easier for the animals and for you.

The animal’s foster parent will ultimately make a recommendation to the organization regarding the permanent placement of the animal. Once an adoption decision has been made by both parties, we ask for an adoption fee to help us cover spay/neutering, shots, medical treatment, food and supplies – this amount only partially cover the cost of expenses and allows us to help as many animals as possible!

What if the adoption doesn’t work out? We have a lifetime return policy on our animals as we don’t want to see them turned back into a shelter.
