Meet Jerome, aka Ken, aka Seamus, aka Mr. Biscuits. This chatty and chubby-cheeked gentleman earned several names from neighbors who befriended him after he turned up on a Brooklyn street yowling for attention and treats. As time went on, Jerome began warming up to the locals, offering them head butts and conversation and making biscuits with his giant white paws. It took a while to lure him indoors, but Jerome has adjusted well to his cushy new life and has made his needs clear: a high shelf where he can keep an eye on his humans, a window to watch the world go by, and someone to chat with when the mood strikes.
Jerome also needs humans willing to give him time to acclimate to a new environment. He may spend the first few weeks hanging out on a high shelf or keeping his distance, but with a little time and a lot of treats and gentle coaxing, he’ll be happy to accept pets and scritches.
Jerome gets along well with other cats, and a friendly cat could be key to teaching Jerome the joys of regular meals, endless pets and human love. He can be skittish when confronted with loud noises and sudden movements, so a calm home is probably best for Jerome.
This cat is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes.
This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.
