My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there big new world!! My name is Peaches, I am around 4 months old, and I am so excited to find my forever family! I was adopted when I was a little puppy from somewhere in Berkeley County (though, none of the shelters there know who I am), but it did not work out with that couple. It was no fault of my own, they had to move, and they were not allowed to take me with them. I appear to be very potty trained, good with kids, and extremely sweet! I have some puppy energy, but nothing to crazy :-). We are not sure what breed I am, but when they did a google ID, it brought up a Carolina Dog and Corgi mix. All we really know is that I am a mix breed with a big dog head and some short stumpy legs, lol! I love to cuddle, give kisses, and of course I love to make new friends of all kinds! I hope you will come meet with me and see everything I have to offer! I would love to be in a home by Christmas. I am just a baby after all <3 .

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application be filled out (can be done online or in person). Allow 3 business days to process. Contact the shelter to check on status of application if you do not hear from us in 3 days. Upon approval, fees are $85 for a cat and $150-$250 for a dog. This includes vaccinations and altering. Renters need to demonstrate approval of landlord to have pets. Home visit may be done at the discretion of the shelter. Our adoption contract specifies adopters must comply with local animal ordinances and have current pets neutered if not already done. Animals must be returned to us if owner is no longer able to care for them

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 11am to 4:30 pm. Please call and make an appointment, as we usually only have 1-2 staff members at the shelter at a time.

More about this shelter

We are a private non-profit limited intake no kill shelter that has been serving the county since 1978. We try to take in and care for as many animals as our small shelter can handle. We are an adoption center and not to be confused with Animal Control. We cannot pick up stray animals, that has to be done by the county. Thank you and we look forward to adopting out to you!
