My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mohawlkita - Bold Name, Even Bolder Style

Mohawlkita is a gorgeous calico with a name that sounds like it belongs to a rock band, a street-style icon or someone who absolutely does things their own way. While “Mohawlkita” isn’t a traditional word with a dictionary definition, it clearly borrows from mohawk energy — edgy, confident and unapologetically cool — with a little extra flair added for fun.

Much like the name, Mohawlkita stands out without even trying. With her striking calico coat and strong sense of presence, she gives off main-character energy wherever she goes. She’s the kind of cat who looks like she has opinions, boundaries and impeccable taste.

If you’re looking for a cat with a one-of-a-kind name, a bold look and a personality that refuses to blend into the background, Mohawlkita is ready to take center stage in your home.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
