My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bunny Bunny is a very sweet young adult mixed-breed girl, likely with a dash of Dachshund—her adorable stubby legs give her away! She’s around 2 years old and weighs 23 lbs, making her a perfect medium-small companion.

Bunny has a low to medium energy level and truly shines as a cuddle buddy. She loves napping, lounging with her foster family, and spending time with other dogs. She would especially enjoy a home with another friendly dog who wants to play, snuggle, and keep her company.

Found as a stray, Bunny has shown nothing but gratitude and a pleasant, gentle temperament. She loves treats, does wonderfully with children, and handles new situations with calm confidence. She is potty trained, does excellent in a crate when her foster family is away, and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night.

Bunny is an all-around wonderful dog who has quickly stolen hearts—so much so that her foster mom admits she would keep her if she didn’t already have two dogs of her own.

Bunny is heartworm positive, but she has already started treatment, and BCAA will cover the remainder of her treatment with one of our partner veterinarians. Please don’t let this stop you from giving Bunny the loving forever home she so deeply deserves.

If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion with lots of love to give, Bunny may be your perfect match. Bcaaofnj.org

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
