My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Alabama, our lovable Great Dane mix! She's been crushing it in training and has made huge strides overcoming food aggression. This sweetie gets along amazingly with other dogs and even cats, making her a perfect fit for a multi-pet household.

Alabama is crate trained, loves walks and free running, and we're working on solidifying her recall. She's also doing great with leash training and listens to the beep on her e-collar. Plus, she's a big fan of peanut butter! After being underweight, she's gained a healthy 22 lbs in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family.

And here's the best part: Alabama is ready to be your ultimate hiking pal! She's always alert to suspicious sounds and sights, making her a great companion for outdoor adventures. Could she be the one to join you on your next hike?

More about this shelter

Our shelter is staffed by only a few employees so we greatly depend on volunteers to help care for our animals.
We work very closely with rescue groups to help move our dogs out of the shelter quickly. Our goal is to never have to euthanize for space. We cannot do that without rescue assistance because our adoption rates are very low.
