My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Matilda! 🐾💛

Matilda is a 51-pound Anatolian Shepherd mix with a goofy, playful personality that’s impossible not to love! This sweet girl is full of energy, always ready to play, explore, and make everyone around her laugh with her silly antics.

She’s friendly, affectionate, and gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for an active household. Matilda would thrive in a loving home that can give her plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of love.

💛🐾 Matilda is ready to find her forever family—a fun, caring home where her playful spirit can shine and she can be adored every single day. Bring this goofball home and let the laughter begin!

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
