Sugar is a 4-year-old mixed breed girl who came to ACCT Philly as a stray after being found at a gas station on Oxford Avenue. With no owner information available, Sugar was brought in to ensure her safety and give her a chance at a fresh start.
From the moment she arrived, Sugar has shown herself to be a gentle, easygoing dog with a calm and friendly demeanor. In her kennel, she waits patiently on her bed with soft eyes and happily comes forward to greet people. She allows easy leashing, walks nicely with only minimal pulling, and is relaxed and social when out in a room. Sugar enjoys exploring her surroundings at her own pace, checking in for affection with a wagging tail and even offering sweet hugs. She allows all handling, takes treats very gently, and is overall a low-key, pleasant companion. While she isn’t particularly interested in toys or play right now, she’s content being near people and shows a lovely balance of independence and affection. She has been noted as very easy to return to her kennel and has earned a gold color level for her behavior.
