My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Meow* I`m in a foster home! Email my foster caregiver to meet me: b.danae@gmail.com
**Cats benefit from companionship!
**Adopt one and receive a discounted rate for the second when adopted in pairs.

Looking for a playful gentleman to romp about the house with? Do you love to drag string around the house during a work break to save your sanity? Meet Panther! This tuxedo cat came to us from South Carolina, and with his tooth troubles behind him he`s come into his own as a fun, loveable panther-in-crime.

Panther loves affection and will come when called but isn`t quite the lounge on your lap sort. Super gentle with his claws, loves to be held (briefly!) and very interested in staying near you as when he naps and wanders. Panther`s energy means dogs and children will likely overwhelm him, but a feline friend would be most welcome for his playful, happy heart.

More about this shelter

At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.

With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our two campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
